Thanksgiving Newsletter!

Dear WSA family, 

As we close out another calendar year, we wanted to first wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season and thank you for all of your support these past few seasons. We could not be more grateful for our Wilton Soccer family and all of your dedication and positive energy to make each player’s experience so special.

Please take a moment to review important updates below which include some activities on tap for this weekend. Thank you in advance for your attention and participation where appropriate.

• “Friends and Family Kick Around”

  • WSA is inviting all players and their family members to Lilly Field for a post Turkey Day “kick around” on Saturday, Nov 30th from 10AM - 12 noon

  • The small and larger goals will be available for use and players can organize small games among themselves or just have a kick around - bring your own soccer balls, water and anything else you need

  • Current Wilton High School soccer players and alumni in town or back home for the weekend are encouraged and welcome to join! Consider this an opportunity to initiate what we hope could become a future, annual “Wilton Warriors Soccer Alumni Game”

  • For our youth players, this not a drop off event and there will be no WSA supervision or coaches organizing - the idea is to gather and just play. Parents can and should play along or can watch from the sidelines, but please stay at the field!

• Field Takedown - Volunteers Needed!

  • Saturday, November 30th from 8:30 - 10AM, meet at the Allen’s Meadows shed

  • Sign up HERE - we need 8-10+ volunteers to make this work go quickly; service hours are available for players who support

  • We’ll be sending teams out to fields to remove nets, secure goals and gather sandbags

  • We would also like to decommission some aging goals so if you have a high torque battery operated impact wrench, please bring it!

• WSA Annual Meeting

  • Dec 9th, 7:00PM at Comstock Community Center, click this LINK for details / annual proxy statement

  • We have Board and volunteer opportunities to contribute across every program and age group

• WSA families raise $4,000 for PinkAid

  • WSA teams wore pink socks for October games during Breast Cancer Awareness Month

  • 100% of the funds raised ($4,000 collected from 150+ WSA families!) were directed to Pink Aid, a local not-for-profit serving patients and their families impacted by breast cancer

• Winter Soccer Nearly Here!

  • Sessions begin in early January 2025

  • Clinics for Tots/PreK, K-2nd on Saturday mornings (just a few slots left per group)

  • Travel Training on weekdays after school and Sunday afternoons

  • Best prices by Dec 1st, capacity limited by gym space available

• Spring Season Coming Soon!

  • Registration for Spring Intramural programs will open by year end - key dates, clinic days and times and more for Spring season are now available on respective program pages for Tots/PreK, K-2nd and 3-8th

  • Travel Soccer season begins with Westport WIN Tournament (Mar 16-17), first outdoor practices end of March/early April subject to fields opening and first league games on April 6th
