Fall Season Rolls On!

It’s nearly Halloween which means we are in the home stretch of our fall soccer season! Please take a few minutes to review some important updates and happenings around the program, detailed below.

League Playoff Races!

All of our U11 and older teams are eligible for league playoffs!

Teams that finish in the top 4 of their respective divisions qualify for semifinal matches with a chance to play for the championship.

Playoff weekend is November 15th (semifinals) and November 16th (finals). All games during playoff weekend are at pre-determined times and venues, so please reserve the weekend if your team is in the race!

As of October 25th, nearly all of our teams are either in the top 4 or have a chance to push into the race!

CT Cup Wrap Up

We are proud of our teams for putting together another strong showing in the CT Cup, the state’s progressive “win or go home” tournament to crown a state champion in each age group.

We had eight teams participate in total, with six of those advancing out of the first round and a few advancing further. Every match played demonstrated that we can and do compete well against some of the best from across Connecticut.

Multiple WSA teams took opponents to overtime draws, with penalty kicks being required to determine the outcome. A tough way to win or lose, but an example of how competitive our teams are in and out of our local area.

Our 2015 Boys advanced to the quarterfinals and played a strong Old Greenwich side in a back-and-forth battle at Lilly North Field. Our boys landed on the wrong side of the final score sheet but demonstrated heart and teamwork from the opening whistle until the last.

If there is one simple observation about our teams it is that when we have all our Wilton athletes and multi-sport athletes come together on one team with a common goal and common sense of pride in their hometown, there truly is no limit to how well we can compete and deep we can go.

Rally the troops, we’ll do it again next fall!

Ridgefield SCOR Tourney / Columbus Day Weekend

WSA teams again represented at the annual SCOR Columbus Day Classic.

Our teams won or tied 36 matches and notched nearly 80 goals with numerous Wilton teams reaching and winning championship games.

Wilton High School Boys Varsity Warriors Qualify for State/CIAC Tourney

Our Varsity boys (lead by our own Coach Edwin!) have punched their ticket for the Class M state tournament set to begin next week. The bracket and schedule will be published in the next few days, we’ll be sure to keep you posted! photo credit: @np12photos on Instagram.

WSA Play for Pink in October / Pink Aid Fundraiser Update

This October we have again shown our support for Breast Cancer Awareness month with our pink socks and team effort to raise funds in support of Pink Aid, a local organization serving patients and families in the fight.

As of last tally, we’ve raised $4,000+, our highest total yet since we started this effort.

There is still time to contribute! We have set a suggested donation of $25 per family. You can make a donation either by clicking HERE or going to the “Home” tab of your TeamSnap app and clicking “Pay Now” where the donation is indicated.

Thank you, what a great team effort!

WSA Board of Directors / Annual Meeting

  • Every year in the coming month or so, WSA elects and re-elects our slate of volunteer Board members for the upcoming annual cycle (January to December of the next year)

  • We have an amazing team, and most or all are likely returning to continue their support of your players, however, we are always looking for fresh perspectives

  • If you have interest in supporting our organization with your positive energy as part of a fun and efficient team, please email info@wiltonsoccer.info for more information
