Important Info Ahead of the Fall 2026 Season

The Fall 2026 soccer season is almost here! Please read the important information below and complete any action items.

“WSA Way” and Code of Conduct

Participation in WSA means players and families uphold the “WSA Way” and Code of Conduct.

  • The WSA Way is how we play, represent, coach, support and enjoy the WSA soccer experience. Click link HERE to read about the standards we ask all to uphold.

  • WSA has a zero-tolerance policy for violations of our Code of Conduct.

  • Please review the “WSA Way” and Code of Conduct with your player, as a family and with anyone who attends games or practices.

Uniforms

  • Uniforms are unchanged from last season

  • New players should have ordered uniforms by now through MyUniform / Soccer & Rugby - all should have received an email to do this; if you have not yet ordered, please do so ASAP

  • Returning players should have ordered any replacement uniform items as needed through MyUniform/Soccer & Rugby by now; if you need to do so, please do ASAP

  • GOALKEEPER jerseys: For any player that enjoys playing goalkeeper, we have added goalkeeping uniforms for purchase in the webstore! Please order ASAP if needed.

  • If you haven't ordered yet, please do so immediately. Delivery can take 3–4+ weeks, and first games are Sunday, August 30

  • We also recommend purchasing cleats soon, as inventory becomes limited this time of year

  • NOTE: All WSA members receive a discount on all non-uniform related items at Wilton Soccer & Rugby (locations in Southport, Brookfield) - just mention you are WSA player.

PlayMetrics: Get on the App!

PlayMetrics is WSA's platform for: Registration, team rosters, schedules, messaging and comms.

Download the PlayMetrics mobile app. Login using the email address you registered for soccer with. Update family contacts in player profile. Check settings and enable all notifications (email, text etc). All must use the RSVP feature in calendars on PlayMetrics app for every event/game so managers and coaches know your player’s status in advance. Manager communications about the season will occur in the team chat.

Practice Information

  • First practices: Week of August 24 (including Aug 24th for relevant teams) / Practice schedules and locations are in your PlayMetrics mobile app!

  • Goalkeeper Clinics:

    • FREE 1x per week training for all our goalkeepers

    • Tuesdays, Sept 8 - Oct 27 on Allen’s Meadows 5

      • U9-U10: 4:30-5:30

      • U11+ 5:30 - 6:30

    • Registration required, sign up HERE

  • Optional Third Training Session

    • Optional additional weekly training session - skills and small-sided games, organized based on age / ability at the field.

    • Tuesdays, Sept 8 - Oct 27 on Allen’s Meadows 4

      • Boys: 4:15 - 5:15 PM

      • Girls: 5:30-6:30 PM

    • Registration and nominal fee ($25.00) required so we can understand participation levels and ensure appropriate staffing

    • Sessions will be added to PlayMetrics calendars.

Parents on Duty (POD)

Each family will be assigned Parents on Duty a few times during the season for regular team practices. PODs attend practices to assist coaches in case another adult is needed.

  • Team managers will assign POD dates

  • If you can't attend your assigned date, please arrange a swap with another family

  • Every practice must have a POD

Bus Transportation to Ambler/Hurlbutt

For teams practicing immediately after school:

  • Your player may begin using the bus to Ambler/Hurlbutt the week of September 8, but NOT SOONER as as buses typically run late during the first two weeks of school

  • You must indicate your child’s bus plan on School's Dismissal Manager.

  • A POD must meet buses at the bottom of the Ambler driveway. If no adult is present, players will remain on the bus and be returned to school.

  • Players should be able to get themselves ready for practice with minimal assistance - they must have appropriate attire, shin guards under socks, cleats, soccer ball and water.

Cider Mill Students Practicing at Comstock

  • Must indicate that your player will be walking to Comstock for soccer in School Dismissal Manager

  • Players should walk to the field and should be met by the POD at dismissal time

  • Players should get themselves ready for practice - they must have appropriate attire, shin guards under socks, cleats, soccer ball and water.

Practice Gear:

  • Soccer ball

  • Shin guards (required) under socks

  • Soccer cleats

  • Water bottle

WSA practice apparel is encouraged - available when you purchase uniforms.

Jewelry

NO earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, or other jewelry may be worn during practices or games. This is a FIFA/CJSA rule. Taping over earrings is not permitted, they must be removed.

Team Managers Needed

Every team needs one or two volunteer team managers.

Returning managers have been reassigned.

New teams need volunteers. If you're interested, please email david.nuttall@wiltonsoccer.info.

League Games

  • First games begin Sunday, August 30 and run through late October/early November.

  • August 30th games may be rescheduled until later in season on team by team basis depending on availability of opponents (some towns schools are not yet in session by this date)

  • Opponents and schedules will be added to PlayMetrics when set.

  • Plan for league games on Sundays between 12:00–6:00 PM.

  • WSA players are expected to prioritize WSA practices and games as their #1 sport during the fall season.

Tournaments

Labor Day Tournament (John Jay Tournament, South Salem, NY)

  • All must RSVP in PlayMetrics ASAP!

  • No response in PlayMetrics will be considered not available and may impact your team’s ability to participate in the event.

    • Boys: Saturday, September 5

    • Girls: Sunday, September 6

  • Team game schedules will be shared one week prior to the event.

Columbus Day Tournament (Ridgefield SCOR, Ridgefield, CT)

  • All teams should plan to participate.

    • Boys: Saturday, October 10th

    • Girls: Saturday, October 11th

CT Cup (Selected U11–U15 Teams)

Selected U11+ teams will compete in the CT Cup, a statewide single-elimination tournament.

  • Saturdays only

  • Begins mid-to-late September

  • Finals in November

  • Participation is expected for selected teams, these games must be priorities over other sports or team’s games

Field Set-Up Day

Saturday, August 29 | 9:00–10:00 AM

Volunteers are needed to help move goals, secure nets, and prepare fields for the season.

WHS Varsity Soccer Home Openers!

Join WSA for Wilton High School Varsity Soccer all season long! We want to create the most exciting environment for soccer around - the games are fast-paced and fun, the concessions stand will be open and we have great events planned for home games throughout the season. Select games will be added to PlayMetrics calendars as reminders.

  • Varsity Boys: Wed, Sept 9th v. Fairfield Warde @ 6:00 PM

  • Varsity Girls: Thurs, Sept 10th v. Norwalk @ 4:00 PM
