WSA Raises $3,500 for Pink Aid in October
For 2nd Year in a Row, Wilton Soccer Goes Pink for Pink Aid!
One in every eight women will receive a breast cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. The need for more research and more support is as great as ever.
As a volunteer lead, not-for-profit organization dedicated to positive contributions to the Wilton community, Wilton Soccer Association (“WSA”) is one of many groups that banded together to raise awareness and funds for this important cause in October.
WSA families made a generous contribution in coordination with distribution of pink socks to be worn by their players for their soccer games throughout the month of October. As it turns out, the combination of Wilton blue and white plus pink is a powerful one as WSA’s “pink” efforts resulted in donations of $3,500, 100% of which is being donated to Pink Aid, a local, breast cancer-focused non profit organization.
Pink Aid’s tagline, “compassion until there is a cure” describes its mission to provide support and rapid emergency financial assistance to underserved breast cancer patients in treatment for both the patients themselves and their families during a critical time in their journeys.
Amy Katz, current Pink Aid Chairwoman, shared, “We are so grateful that the Wilton Soccer Association and the Wilton community again have stepped up for Pink Aid. The enhanced awareness for our mission among Wilton and area families is so incredibly valuable, and the financial contributions are immediately impactful to our patients and their families battling right now.”
WSA volunteer President, Jason Partenza, added, “Wilton and Wilton Soccer really care about the well being of our local families. While playing soccer is fun and our reason for being, seeing our players and families band together for a larger cause is very special and rewarding for all.”
